Mahoe Reserve will be restored to a healthy indigenous ecosystem, highly valued by the community

Welcome to the Mahoe Reserve community website.

The purpose of this website is to provide the community with an opportunity to participate in and support the future development and preservation of Mahoe Reserve.

The project was started in 2002 by year 9 students at Lincoln High School. Planting began in 2003. Since then 4000+ native trees, shrubs and grasses have been planted with the dedication and hard work of the students, staff, and recently members of the community, including the Kindergarten, Guides and local youth groups.

The Reserve is managed by the High School environmental group (LEO), a community trust (Lincoln Envirotown Trust, LET) and Selwyn District Council, in conjunction with Lincoln University and Landcare Research Ecologists.
